In 57 seasons of competition, including those as a club team, CC has compiled a record of 506-297-63, good for a very impressive .622 winning percentage. Horst Richardson, who became the team's eighth head coach in 1966, is in his 42nd season at the helm this fall. Richardson has taken Colorado College to the NCAA playoffs in nine of the last 15 campaigns. He guided the team to five consecutive post-season appearances in the early 1980s ('81-85)when the Tigers reached the national quarterfinals twice (1983 and '84).
Patrick McGinnis became CC's sixth All-American in 2004, following in the footsteps of Greg Kazemi (1986), Robert Lipp (1992), Noah Epstein (1990 and '93), Arron Lujan (1994) and Dan Morlan (1997). Four representatives of the program – Saad Sahawneh and Jay Engeln, as well as the late Bill Boddington and Brigham Olson – are members of the CC Athletics Hall of Fame.
