Steps:
- Setup a grid approximately (40yd x 40yd) that is split into 4 squares. See diagram.
- There are four defenders and 6 attackers. Each defender must remain in one grid.
- Play starts with a 3v1 in the first square with the remaining 3 defenders at the center cone and the remaining 3 attackers in the other squares. The 3 attackers in the first square work together to complete at least 3 passes and then pass to an attacker in the next square. 2 attackers must then join the new square and play 3v1 against the defender of that square. The goal is to work around the grid into each square.
- Defenders can only enter the square once the attacker touches the ball. Attackers can switch to another square at any time after 3 passes and any 2 attackers can transition into the new square. If the defender wins the ball then restart the drill in the next square.
- Each attacking group has 5 chances to complete the drill. Every player should have a chance to play defense.
Setup:
- Set up a grid 40x40 spilt into 4 squares.
- 10 players.
Variations:
- You can limit the amount touches available to each player to increase the speed of play and thought.
- You can allow the defenders to
Tips:
- Quick passing and movement off the ball and essential.
- Players should make good supporting runs. and read where the defender is pressuring.
- Attackers in the outside squares should create space by recieving the ball deep in the square. Remember the defender cannot enter until the attacker touches the ball. Give the supporting players time to enter the square by recieving the ball further away from the defender.
