Steps:

  1. Set up two 10x10 adjoining grids in front of a goal. Place a defender on the back line of each 10x10 grid for a total of two defenders with a goalkeeper in the goal. Place two attacking players with a ball between tem at the start of the first grid.
  2. The player with the ball should go at the defender with speed. Once the defender commits, the attacker should decide to beat the defender himself or pass the ball of to his other attacker. Once the defender is beaten he cannot track back. The attackers then cross the line into the next grid and the process repeats itself. If the defender wins the ball or clears it from the grid, the drill is over. If the attackers get past both defenders, they proceed onto the goal and try to score on the goalkeeper.

Setup:

  • 2 10x10 adjoining grids in front of a goal - 5 players: (2 attackers, 2 defenders, 1 goalkeeper)

Tips:

  • The object of this drill is to create a 2v1-attacking situation in the grid
