At the conclusion of the game you and the team should shake hands with the officials and the opposing team. This teaches your kids about sportsmanship regardless of the result and develops good habits. After this you should sit your players down and have them rest while they drink some fluids. It is also a good idea to get your players in the habit of a cool down after each game. This involves some light stretching and jogging. If there are any players who are injured you should give them the appropriate treatment. After the cool down you can give a short post game review, and team announcements. Lastly you should encourage your players to get a good meal (high complex carbohydrates) within 30 minutes of the game to replenish their body’s blood sugar levels. The following is a checklist for you to go over:

-Shake hands with officials and opposing team
-Give your players rest and fluids
-Cool down
-Check for injuries
-Post game review and team announcements
-Replenish lost carbs
