Steps:

  1. The field is broken into 3 zones with three small goals on each end of the field. In zone 1 and zone 3 there needs to be three players from both the red team and the blue team. In zone 2 there will be one player from the red team and one player from the blue team.
  2. Play as a normal game although you must stay in your zone. Both teams must play the ball through their player in zone 2 before the ball can go into the attacking zone.
  3. Red team is trying to score on the blue team’s goals and vice versa. Most goals win.

Setup:

  • Set up a field 45x45 and divide it into 3 zones.
  • Make three goals at each end line about 2 yards apart.
  • 14 players: 2 Teams (7 Red, 7 Blue)

Variations:

  • Limit the amount of touches a player can take.
  • Put more players in zone 2.
  • Allow the player in zone 2 to enter into their teams attacking zone to give them a man advantage on the defending team.

Tips:

  • A defender always knows where the ball is on the field and tries to read when the ball is going to be played to the player they are marking so they can cut off the pass.
  • Stay close to the man being marked so that when they receive the ball in their attacking zone they have a difficult time turning or finding one of their teammates to pass to.
