Steps:

  1. Start off with two teams on the field, with one team starting off with the ball. Notice the shape of the field.
  2. Play a regular game while working on the following:
    1. The first defender should always pressure the ball. Do not let the first attacker’s head come up.
    2. The second defender should be between the ball and the goal while being aware of the second attacker.
    3. The first defender should try to channel the first attacker with the ball toward the sideline away from the second attacker.
    4. Once the first attacker has no passing option, the second defender double teams the first attacker and tries to win the ball.

Setup:

  • Set up a field with cones 20x20 yards (Refer to diagram)
  • 4 players: Two teams of two (Red vs. Yellow)

Tips:

  • The defenders need to stay balanced and make sure they don’t become too spread out, allowing the attacking team to pass around them or get an easy shot off.
