Description

This is a simple challenge that can be used to reinforce correct technique when driving a long ball. As you can see in the diagram, all you need to setup this challenge is 8 cones, a goal, and preferrably one ball per player. The cones should mark out 6, 12, 18, and 24 yards from the goal. The objective of this game is to hit the back of the net with a ball without letting it bounce from each of the markers. Players compete against each other to finish all markers in the fewest attempts. To begin, each player lines up their ball on the 6yd mark. One at a time each player drives the ball into the back of the net (side netting does not count). If successful they move to the next mark and a new round is started. If unsuccesful, players must remain at their mark until it is completed. Make sure each player is getting the same amount of attempts. Don't encourage them to rush. Use this time to correct any mistakes you can see. You can adjust the rules to fit the skill level of your players. For example, allowing one or more bounces or varying the distances. Have Fun!
