GK Warm Up 2

Goalkeeping Drills - Shot Blocking Drills
Wednesday, 12 December 2007

Steps:

  1. Start with the goalkeeper standing on his/her goal line and a field player with a group of balls about 5 yards away from the corner of the 6-yard box.
  2. The warm-up drill begins when the goalkeeper runs for about 3 yards and sets himself/herself in a good position between the goal and the ball trying to cut down the shooters angle. Meanwhile the player with the ball is taking a shot on goal. Note: This is a warm up drill for the goalkeeper so make sure the shooter is taking shots that the goalkeeper can save so he/she can work on positioning while also warming up their hands and feet and becoming familiar with the field surface.
