The amount a player is interested will ultimately dictate how much they will learn. A player who is interested and enthusiastic will want to learn and practice on their own. It is your job to gain and keep their interest levels high. The problem is that you can’t force your players to be interested; they either will be interested or they won’t.

There are many different styles and approaches to coaching during the game. Some coaches will direct their players during every minute of the game and are very active while some coaches like to sit back and just let their players play. Neither is completely wrong but as a coach you have to find a balance between them both. Yelling at your players constantly will only slow their development down since they won’t be able to make decisions on their own or understand the decisions they have to make during the game.
