I've played soccer since I was 5 years old and like most players the idea of filming your games in order to analyze and learn from it was not commonplace. It wasn't until I was in college and even more so in the pros that coaches would encourage us to watch games for learning purposes. To tell you the truth it's not easy to analyze your own game and if you don't know what to look for it will seem like there is no point to doing it. Here are some tips to help you out.

This past week I was teaching my team the fundamentals of shooting and the proper technique. During my session one of the players asked me how to generate more power on his shots and I told him its not how hard or far back you swing its how quickly you swing.

The free kick is one of the most frequent dead ball situations in matches. The different positions from which it is possible to take a free kick (practically from all over the playing field) allow you to structure a great number of plays, which must be organized so that you can exploit the characteristics of your players.

This week we are going to cover the basics of set plays and give you examples to use for your team.
