GK Wall Drill 2

Goalkeeping Drills - Ball Handling Drills
Wednesday, 12 December 2007

Steps:

  1. Start with the goalkeeper facing the wall (6 yards away) standing in between the two cones, and a player with a ball in their hands, behind the goalkeeper.
  2. The drill begins when the goalkeeper shuffles to either side and touches the cone. Meanwhile the player with the ball either throws or kicks the ball against the wall so that the goalkeeper has to get back into position in time to catch the ball out of the air as it bounces off the wall toward him/her. 3 - 1 flat wall - 2 players (1 Field Player 1 Goalkeeper) - 2 cones 2 yards apart.

Setup:

  • When the goalkeeper feels comfortable, kick/throw the ball a bit harder against the wall to make it more difficult for the keeper.
